Dum ni estis piedirantaj hejmen de la lernejo hieraŭ, pluvis tre subite. Kia pluvego estis! Ni estis parolantaj pri la lecionoj pri geometrio kaj rigardantaj ĉi tiujn librojn pri la Germana lingvo, do ni ne vidis la nubojn sur la ĉielo. Nu, ni forgesis pri ekzamenoj kaj ekscivolis, kien iri. Ni ne sciis, ĉu ni havos sufiĉe da tempo por kuri eĉ al la domo de la avo, antaŭ ol pluvos. Multaj paperoj falis el niaj libroj, kaj la vento kaptis ilin. La vento forpelis ilin de ni, kaj ili ŝajnis danci ĉirkaŭen en la aero. Tamen, ni facile kaptis kaj kolektis ilin, kaj tiam ni kuris antaŭen. Subite tondris lautege, kaj ni vidis brilan fulmon sur la ĉielo. Ni preskaŭ fermis la okulojn pro la fulmo. Grandegaj gutoj da pluvo falis peze kaj frapis la polvon fortege. La aero estis peza kaj kvieta tiam, kaj la pluvoŝtormo tuj sekvis la malmultajn gutojn da pluvo. Ni rapidis trans la straton kaj kuris pli kaj pli rapide. Ni lacegis, kaj niaj vestoj estis treege malsekaj, antaŭ ol ni estis en la domo. La pluvo estis falanta de la tegmento, sed ni kuris tra ĝi kaj frapis sur la pordo. Ni ripozis kelke da tempo ĉi tie, antaŭ ol iri hejmen.

While we were walking home from school yesterday, it rained very suddenly. What a rainstorm it was! We were talking about the lessons in geometry and were looking at these books about the German language, so we did not see the clouds in the sky. Well, we forgot about examinations and began to wonder where to go. We did not know whether we had enough time to run even to Grandfather’s house before it would rain. Many papers fell out of our books, and the wind caught them. The wind chased them away from us, and they seemed to dance around in the air. However, we easily caught and gathered them, and then we ran forward. Suddenly it thundered very loudly, and we saw the brilliant lightning in the sky. We almost closed our eyes for the lightning. Huge drops of rain fell heavily and struck the dust violently. The air was heavy and still then, and the storm immediately followed the few drops of rain. We hastened across the street and ran faster and faster. We were exhausted, and our clothes were exceedingly wet before we were in the house. The rain was dropping from the roof, but we ran through it and knocked on the door. We rested some time here, before going home.
